US Ambassador to the Maldives, Hugo Yon has paid a courtesy call on President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

During the meeting, Muizzu expressed his hope to further strengthen relations between the Maldives and the United States and take them to a new level. He also expressed confidence that the Maldives would receive the necessary assistance in various fields.

During the meeting, Yon assured that he would do his utmost to further strengthen bilateral relations. He also assured that he would provide full assistance to Maldives' development in various fields.

In addition, Yon said he hoped the newly established embassy would further expand the work.
