President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that he has not requested to halt or stop any ongoing project in any island.
The President-elect's office previously sent a letter to the President making ten requests, including not initiating a new project under PSIP and any other program, to avoid doing certain things during the interim phase of regime change.
This has led some companies to express concern that their work is getting halted, and the government too has said that it cannot be stopped even at the interim stage.
Addressing this, President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said in a tweet that the statement that some companies are stopping work and removing machinery at his behest is baseless.
"I have not instructed to halt any projects in any island, nor would anyone from my side make such a request," Dr. Muizzu Tweeted
Additionally, Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath has also said that the president-elect does not have the legal authority to order an end to what the government is doing for the people.
