The Employment Tribunal has ordered the Gaafu Atoll Education Center to reinstate two of their Teachers who were terminated outside the law.
The two employees in question are Hidhaayath Ahmed and Zulfeena Ahmed, both from Gaafu Alifu Villingili.
After reviewing the two cases filed, the Employment Tribunal today said that the two cases filed on 31 October 2018 has been reviewed the court has decided that both plaintiffs were terminated from their employment, in violation of Articles 23 and 29 of the Employment Act. And the termination also violates Article 47 and 273 of the Civil Service Commission regulation.
And so in reference to Article 29-A Part 1 of the Employment Act, Zulfeena And Hidhaayath must be reinstated.
Hence, the Tribunal Court ordered the Gaafu Atoll Education Center to reinstate the two, compensate their salaries and inform the court in writing within 14 days.
Zulfeena was a Leading Teacher at the Center before their termination and Hidhaayath was a Primary Grade Teacher.
