The first phase of Hulhumale Phase 3 land reclamation will be completed next Friday, Urbanco said.
Sri Lanka's Capital Marine and Civil Construction (CMC) was awarded the dredging work of the third phase of the Hulhumale project last August. The company has also been awarded the contract to dredge the other parts of Thilafushi and Dhiyaneru.
The CMC started dredging the project's third phase on the 22nd of last month.
Urbanco said 70 percent of Site A of the third phase of Hulhumale has been dredged and Site A will be completed by next Friday.
After Site A, Site B is scheduled to be dredged. Therefore, vessles parked in the area should be removed from the area as soon as possible, Urbanco said.
Phase three will dredge 63 hectares of land in the Hulhumale' lagoon.
700 plots of land will be allocated from Hulhumale under the Binveriyaa Scheme. These include 24 plots of 4,000 acres, 16 plots of 3,650 acres, 43 plots of 3,250 acres, 61 plots of 2,850 acres, 132 plots of 2,450 acres, 243 plots of 2,060 acres and 1,650 acres 181 plots of land.
