The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) collected MVR 1.8 billion in September.

The "Monthly Revenue Collection September 2023" released by MIRA yesterday noted that the amount was 15.8 per cent lower than the same month last year. This is a decline of 19.4 per cent compared to the estimated revenue.

GST was the highest source of revenue for MIRA last month. The TGST collection stood at MVR 523.05 million last month. Tourism land rent collection stood at MVR 232.29 million while income tax collection stood at MVR 136.80 million.

Airport development fees stood at MVR 71.19 million while departure tax stood at MVR 67.73 million. Other taxes and fees stood at MVR 152.42 million.

Foreign exchange earnings stood at US$ 49.62 million last month.
