Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET) to train staff for trade harbors.
At a ceremony held today, the agreement was signed by the CEO of MPL, Shahid Ali and the Ministry of State for Higher Education, Mohamed Hashim.
Under the agreement, the opportunity would be open for MPL staff and other interested candidates to join the training courses. A hundred people would get the opportunity to join the courses.
Speaking at the ceremony after the signing, MPL CEO, Shahid said that MPL is an institute that requires staff in various fields and one of their key fields of Ports is a sector with very few trained personnel.
The State Minister, Mohamed Hashim highlighted the importance of training professionals in open sectors. He said that it is important that courses such as agreed upon today become a standard to maintain a quality of service.
