President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's Oath of Office ceremony will take place on November 17, according to interim spokesman Mohamed Firuzul Abdulla Khalil.
At a press conference in M. Dhimyath, Firuzul said that the arrangements for the ceremony are being carried out as per the normal procedure by the Parliament office, but caters to the requests of the President-elect.
"So far, discussions have been held to hold this honour in the Republic Square as the President-elect has also indicated. Oath of Office has been discussed to be held on 17 November, 2023," Firuzul said.
He said that some changes may occur to this arrangement depending on the weather.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the change of government on November 11 is what he wants and will work towards it. President Solih has stated that November 11 is the day when the regimes have been changing in the history of the Maldives and if there are no legal hurdles, the swearing-in ceremony will take place on the same day.
