Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Mahloof resumed his responsibilities on Tuesday, following a suspension that has since been lifted by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The President ordered his suspension following allegations that the Minister was involved in the MMPRC corruption scandal. According to documents released by the Anti Corruption Commission, Minister Mahloof had carried out dollar transactions with SOF - a company that is being held accused of laundering money that was stolen from MMPRC.
Minister Mahloof, who was suspended on February 14th tweeted that he was greatly thankful to the President for trusting him again and lifting his suspension, since the ACC and Police probe did not find any connections with him to what has become the most shocking and biggest corruption scandal for the island nation.
President Solih had previously reiterated on multiple counts that anyone who wishes to be a part of corruption would not have a place in his government.
