The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has said that the construction of Ameenee Magu has been put on hold on the directions of the Planning Ministry.
RDC sources told One on Thursday that the Planning Ministry had put the construction of the Ameenee Magu on hold as it could make it difficult for the road to be constructed during election time.
"As soon as the Ministry directs us, we will start the road construction work," the official said.
The road has been developed up to the Planning Ministry as part of a state-of-the-art Ameenee Magu development project.
The Planning Ministry awarded the construction of the Amini road to the RDC on July 3, 2022, at a cost of MVR 84.4 million to be completed within 210 days. The work began on August 30, 2022.
