People who came to high positions through my efforts no longer remember it: Yameen

PPM/PNC Leader, former President Abdullah Yameen, has said that people who came to high positions through his efforts no longer remember it.

Yameen, who is currently under house arrest, talked to his supporters yesterday. Speaking to a crowd of his supporters from the window of his residence, President Yameen said his loyal supporters are the ones working to free him from house arrest and jail.

"However, people in positions of power got it because of me and this team. It is sad that they forget about it once they came to power," he said.

Yameen said that even if he is imprisoned, the love of the people for him will not change.

While Yameen has said this, President-elect Dr. Muizzu had asked the people not to protest calling for the release of Yameen and to give him the opportunity to release him peacefully. However, supporters gathered at Yameen's house last night and called for his release.
