PNC Chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdulla has been formally appointed as the Director General of the Transitional Committee by President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Dr. Muizzu sent his name to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday. The CSC today appointed Abdul Raheem as the Director General of the Transitional Committee.

Mohammed Firzul Abdullah Haleel has also been appointed as the Transitional Spokesperson. He was most recently the Deputy Director General of the Ilm Institute of Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Muizzu won the second round of the presidential election with 129,159 votes. That's 54 percent. The MDP candidate and incumbent received 109,868 votes. That's 45 percent.
