President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with British Ambassador to the Maldives Caron Röhsler.
This was Dr Muizzu's first meeting with a foreign envoy after his election, which was held at Dr. Muizzu's personal residence, M. Dhimyath.
Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by Vice President-elect Hussein Mohamed Latheef, and an official from the British Embassy accompanied the ambassador, but no further details of the meeting were disclosed.
President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu completed his higher education at the University of London and Leeds.
Speaking at a meeting at the Social Center on Monday night to celebrate Dr. Muizzu's achievement, he said that foreign policy is 'Pro Maldives' and that he will continue to strengthen relations with any country that believes in it.
Similarly, the neighbouring Indian ambassador had also asked for a meeting, he said, adding that he would hold a meeting with the Indian ambassador soon.
