President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that MDP will support President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's government in carrying out the work required to be carried out in the parliament.

Speaking at the party's National Assembly meeting held at Imaduddin School on Tuesday night, President Solih said that the most important task of the government at the moment is to ensure a peaceful transition of the government.

"I assure you that we will do it responsibly and provide all necessary support to run the next government. Tonight, I assure the newly elected government that we will also help the newly elected government in what parliament needs to do to start it," he said.

He said that one has to face success and defeat in elections but should not sit still after losing the elections and remain a strong opposition party and without any delay, people will accept what this government has done, and people will start saying these things.

"The failure was due to misleading rumours but the truth will come out. The next aim is to win parliament and we will try to bring the party to power in 2028," he said.

He said there are good things and bad things in the presidential system as well as in the parliamentary system and that he supports the presidential system and if there is a need for a systemic vote, he will work effectively to ensure that the presidential system is held.
