India's Air Vistara has commenced flights between New Delhi and Maldives.
In a statement, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said Vistara operations have commenced from Male' city to New Delhi from Sunday, with the airline's A320 neo aircraft.
Vistara will use Airbus A320 Neo aircraft for its flights from the Maldives to Delhi, and passengers will be able to travel economy, premium economy and business class.
MACL said Vistara flights will take place on a daily basis and details of ticket prices will be available on the Air Vistara flight web.
The ceremony to welcome Vitara's first flight was attended by the company's top executives and employees of local travel agency Skyplan. MACL stated that that the launch of Vistara will further strengthen India-Maldives relations.
Apart from Vistara, IndiGo is the Indian airline that operates direct flights to the Maldives, operating direct flights to the Maldives to Cochin, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Air Vistara is a joint venture between The Tata Group of India and Singapore Airlines.
