Incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with President-Elect Dr. Mohammed Muizzu today.

The two met at the President's Office a short while ago. The meeting was also attended by the PPM/PNC chief Abdul Raheem Abdullah. The President's Office and the two parties have not yet announced the details of the meeting.

According to the provisional results of the second round of the presidential election held yesterday, Muizzu received more than 129,159 votes with 54 percent. President Solih received 45.96 percent. That’s more than 109,868 votes.

After winning the election, Muizzu met with the media yesterday and asked the President to transfer Opposition Leader and former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom home.

The government has decided to transfer Yameen home today. Yameen is currently being transferred to his home.
