A total of 84 houses in four islands have been damaged by heavy rains so far this month.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) today said it is providing assistance to 84 houses affected by heavy rains, floods, and strong winds.

The NDMA said four islands in three atolls have reported damages so far this month.

This includes 66 houses in Lhaviyani Kurendhoo, 15 houses in Alif Alif Ukulhas, one house in Alif Alif Feridhoo, and two houses in Addu City Feydhoo.

In addition, the damage to the houses has been assessed and assistance is being provided, the NDMA said.

Heavy rains flooded 90 percent of the houses in Kurendhoo on Tuesday. Some houses were also blacked out and sustained various damage.
