The permanent list of flat recipients under the government's "Gedhoruveriyaa" scheme is still pending and the list will be released next week as soon as possible, the Housing Ministry said today.
The Planning Ministry released the provisional list of those who have applied for flats under the Housing Scheme on the 8th of this month. The opportunity to submit complaints to the list will be open until today.
At a meeting with land recipients last week, State Minister of Housing, Akram Kamaluddin said he was working to release the permanent list this week.
However, Akram told One Online today that the evaluation work of the permanent list is not yet completed and they are working to make it public as soon as possible.
“The soonest (permanent list of flat recipients) will be released is next week,” Akram said.
20,697 people applied for flats under the scheme. Of these, 13,763 are eligible. There are 3,903 two-bedroom flats and 9,860 three-bedroom flats.
The permanent list of land recipients announced by the Housing Ministry has also been released. There are 18,955 people eligible for land. The scheme will provide 1,351 plots in Hulhumale, 2,219 plots in Gulhifalhu and 5,433 plots in Giravaru Falhu. That totals 9,003 plots.
4,000 flats are being constructed in Phase II of the scheme. The work has been awarded to JMC and NBCC of India. Each company has been awarded a contract for 2,000 flats.
