Male' City Mayor and PPM/PNC presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed Muiz has pledged to reduce the rent of Hiyaa flats to MVR 5,600.

Speaking at Hulhumale' Phase 2 to campaign for the second round of presidential elections, Dr. Muiz said that former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom had decided to collect MVR 5,600 from the Hiyaa flats as rent.

"President Yameen's administration decided at MVR 5,600 as rent for Hiyaa flats. The current government has said they will reduce the rent as well, but so far, nothing has been done to reduce the rent, right? We are saying that we will reduce the price fixed under President Yameen to MVR 5,600," Dr. Muiz said.

Dr. Muiz had earlier promised to pay MVR 200,000 as expenses for the finishing of the Hiyaa flat as well.
