Another 408 youth will be eligible to vote in the second round of the presidential election on the 30th of this month, the Election Commission (EC) said.
The total number of eligible voters in the presidential election held on the 9th of this month was 282,395.
The Election Commission today said that 408 people have been added to the list of eligible voters in the second round of the elections. They include 196 women and 212 men who have reached the legal voting age of 18.
Therefore, the total number of eligible voters in the second round of the presidential election is 282,803.
The list of those added to the voting list was published in the Government Gazette today. The Election Commission has opened the deadline for submitting complaints from 15th to 17th of September.
There were 282,395 eligible voters in the first round, with 225,486 casting their ballots. That’s 79.85 percent.
The opposition PNC presidential candidate Mohamed Muizzu received the most votes in the first round of the election. That’s 101,635 votes. The second-highest number of votes went to the MDP candidate. That’s 86,161 votes.
The second round will be held on the 30th of this month between Muizzu and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
