The Democrats has selected Central Henveiru MP Ali Azim as its Parliamentary Group (PG) Leader.

The deputy leaders are Gaddhoo MP Ahmed Zahir and Central Maafannu MP Ibrahim Rasheed (Bonde). Ingoofaaru MP Mohammed Waheed has been elected as the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Group and Mahchangolhi North MP Mohammed Rasheed (Bodhige) has been elected as the Whip.

11 lawmakers belonging to The Democrats voted in the election held today to elect members for the Parliamentary Group. The members of the Parliamentary Group were elected unanimously.

Ali Azim, who was elected as the Parliamentary Group Leader, was a member of the MDP and served as the party's PG Leader for many years.
