The national airline, Maldivian is set to operate two flights a week to Bangalore, India from October 30th onwards.

The flights will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays of the week. The flights will depart from Male' at 9:30 am and arrive at 12:05 pm from the 30th of next month. The flight from Bangalore, India is scheduled to depart at 01:05 pm and arrive at 02:40 pm.

Maldivian purchased two more ATR aircraft on the 3rd of this month. Maldivian Public Relations Executive Ahmed Mush'il Sobah told One Online that the airline has signed an agreement with the French company to purchase two new ATR 600-42 aircraft with a seating capacity of 45 passengers.

One of the two aircraft will be delivered in December and the second in 2025, he said. Maldivian Airlines has started converting its aircraft to ATR aircraft as the fleet of Dash-8 aircraft has become exhausted.

Maldivian has brought in three ATR aircraft and started using them. Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), which operates Maldivian, signed a deal with French company ATR in January last year to buy three ATR aircraft.
