Maldives National Party (MNP) has decided to support PPM/PNC Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in the run-off of the Presidential Election scheduled for September 30th.
One Online has learned that the decision was made after a council meeting held last night.
The council decided to accept the invitation from Muizzu to form a coalition and consult with the party. However, the MNP has not yet commented on the matter.
The MNP candidate and the party's president received 1,907 votes in the presidential election held on Saturday.
Muizzu defeated MDP presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohammed Solih by a margin of more than 15,000 votes in the first round. Muizzu received 101,394 votes, while the President received 85,698 votes.
Muizzu has invited all parties to form a coalition with him.
