PPM/PNC's presidential candidate, Male' City Mayor, Dr. Mohamed Muiz, has said that if he wins Saturday's election, he will reduce the rates charged by WAMCO for waste management in Male' city.

Speaking at the inauguration of Muiz's campaign office in Maafannu, he said that WAMCO is charging a huge price for garbage collection services.

"I assure that if the people trust me and elect me in the next Saturday's vote, I will reduce the high prices charged by WAMCO and make it affordable for the people," Muiz said.

Muizzu said that the hike in the fees charged by WAMCO for waste collection services was not due to the company's profitability. He added that due the current prices of WAMCO, small and medium enterprises were on the verge of bankruptcy.
