PNC Presidential Candidate, Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will build the first mental hospital of the country in Laamu Atoll Gan.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Gan last night, Muizzu said Gan-Fonadhoo is a good area from the point of view of population consolidation. He said that under his rule, all the roads in the two islands would be upgraded to modern standards

Muizzu said that if he comes to power, he will develop the Gan Regional Hospital and convert it into a tertiary hospital.

Muizzu added that a mental health hospital will be built in Gan because Gan is a pleasant environment with many trees. The environment itself would add more comfort to the patients, he said.
