Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said S. Hithadhoo Old Harbour Breakwater Construction Project (Phase 2) is well underway.

MTCC said the first shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction have been delivered to the site.

Scope of work for the project include, 5.88 hectares land reclamation operations, 419m revetment, 270m groyne, 728m quay wall, 5455 sqm harbor pavement, a scour apron, ramp (12m x12m), and a bridge (10m x 96m).

The project is valued at MVR 130.26 million.
