Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated K. Maafushi Harbour Development Project is well underway.

MTCC said installation of concrete blocks for quay wall construction is ongoing, with 74% completion. The quay wall concrete works are also currently ongoing.

Scope of work for the project includes 63,711cbm new harbour basin dredging operations, 28,836cbm maintenance dredging operations, 4,414cbm channel dredging operations, construction of a 31m breakwater, a 680m rock boulder revetment, a 700m geo bag revetment, a 374m quay wall, construction of a concrete jetty, a bridge and installation of 1,869sqm harbour pavement and harbour lights.

The project is valued at MVR 76.48 million.
