Sheikh Ilyas Hussain has stated that he has been supporting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih since 2018.

Ilyas made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony in Hithadhoo South constituency of Addu City last night.

Ilyas said that those who have served as presidents so far have come to play with the sentiments of the people of Addu. However, the current government has not neglected the people of Addu.

"This is something that the people of Addu need to understand," he said. "This time we have to make the most of the opportunity that comes our way. Today's government has made it possible for Addu to do what it needs. We have to take advantage of it. The people of Addu should unite and work towards this," Ilyas said.

Ilyas further said that President Solih has been doing everything that the people want to do with sincerity.
