Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that if elected to power, he will waive all fines imposed in parking violations.

Muizzu, who arrived in Sh. Funadhoo this evening for the presidential election campaign, told the residents of the island that although the current government had promised not to put up parking stickers, it was seen that parking stickers were being put up without showing alternatives to parking spaces.

Muizzu said that the government had made parking stickers a source of revenue for the state in the budget.

"Even in the budget, revenue in parking fines is included. Parking sticker fines are not fair. It's not just. We will waive all parking fines," Muizzu said.

He said that the Male' City Council has decided to construct multi-store parking buildings to solve the parking problem in the city. Muizzu said the project could not take off as the government had blocked it and denied permission. He said the multi-store parking building would be constructed during the party's rule and the parking problem in male' city would be solved along with it.

He added that the sale of the garage city was no longer in a way that would benefit the people. Muizzu said that along with the new parking building, the need to beg for garage city will also come to an end.

Muizzu said the Maldives has reached this point through the efforts of senior citizens and senior citizens play an important role in building the youth. He said that special facilities for senior citizens would be built in all parts of the country with necessary facilities for senior citizens.
