The government has extended the deadline for filing complaints for the provisional list of flat recipients under the government's 'Gedhoruveriyaa' scheme.
On August 8, the Planning Ministry released the provisional list of recipients who had applied for flats under the housing scheme for allotment of flats in the Male' area under the government's housing policy.
A total of 20,697 applicants applied for flats under the scheme. Out of these, 13,763 were eligible to receive a flat. This includes 3,903 applicants for two-bedroom flats and 9,860 for three-bedroom flats.
The provisional list was made public and opened for complaints for 15 days. The deadline expired yesterday.
Minister of State for Planning Akram Kamaluddin told One that the deadline for filing complaints for the flat list has been extended by another seven days. He, however, did not specify the reason for the extension. The number of complaints received so far is also not known.
The permanent list of flat recipients will be issued after examining the complaints received in the provisional list.
A total of 4,000 flats are being constructed in Hulhumale' Phase II to provide flats under the scheme, which has been awarded to JMC and NBCC of India. Each company has been entrusted with the work of 2,000 flats.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that all those who meet the criteria will be given flats.
