Elections Commission of the Maldives has decided to penalize the three individuals who were in-charge of the three ballot boxes of Maamigilli.

Speaking to ‘One Online’, Spokesperson of the Commission, Ahmed Akrama noted that the decision came following allegations of having counted correct votes as void.

According to laws and regulations regarding elections, criminal charges can be pushed if one is found guilty of influencing the vote or violating a voting right.
