Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the coalition's presidential candidate, has said that Air Ambulance services will be introduced in the Maldives under the Progressive Congress Coalition government.

Muizzu, who is currently on a visit to Dhaalu Atoll to campaign for the upcoming presidential elections, said that during the tenure of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, the health sector of the Maldives has been revolutionized. It is an "undeniable fact," he said.

Muizzu said the past five years have seen its opposite, and therefore, one of the most important areas of development is the health sector.

Muizzu said Sea Ambulances have been introduced in different parts of the country under President Yameen and many people are benefiting from it.

"Now, some discussions have been held and some information has been collected and as part of our efforts towards our manifesto, we will launch the air ambulance service in the country. We will turn one of the seaplane's airplanes into a pilot project and convert one of its boats into fully a equipped air ambulance and start flying," Muizzu said.

He said that if the pilot project is successful, they will bring in more boats and expand the air ambulance service. This will make it easier for all airports and will ensure speedy movement of patients from one place to another, which will be a source of happiness for the people.
