President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that only he can serve the people without personal gain or any self-interest being involved in it.

Speaking to the people of Noonu Atoll Maafaru, President Solih said that in the past, people had always worked together to block the current leader from a second term. However, he highlighted that people actively want the current government to be re-elected for a second term.

"It's different this time. The difference was reflected in the fact that people believed in what we had done. Because they have faith in the government. It is because all the people are seeing the promises being fulfilled. That's the difference. We go from one island to another day and have discussions and we see the pictures," he said.

President Solih further said that he no longer has any political ladder to climb to rise further, adding that everything has been fulfilled for him. He said his only aim is to complete the projects initiated by the government.
