Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure towards implementation of N. Velidhoo Picnic Island Project.

MTCC CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC while Fathimath Shaana Farooq, DG, signed on behalf of Ministry.

MP Mohamed Abdulla Shafeeg was also present at the ceremony.

The scope of works include, 61,200 cbm reclamation operations, 50m groyne and 412m geobag revetment. The value of the project is MVR 19.16 million.

In addition to this, MTCC has also been awarded the project to develop a junior college in the island.

Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan signed on behalf of Ministry.

According to MTCC, the scope of works include, 2 classrooms, 1 ICT lab, 1 library, 2 workshops in an area of 10,276 sqft.

The value of the project is MVR 11.91 million.
