Jumhooree Party (JP)'s leader and presidential candidate Qasim Ibrahim has announced the establishment of a transshipment port in Ihavandhippolhu in his presidential manifesto.

Qasim announced his manifesto at a ceremony held at JP headquarters, M. Kunooz, on Wednesday night.

His manifesto included developing Ihavandhippolhu as a special economic zone that can cater 5 billion containers annually.

Additionally, Qasim's manifesto includes development of 35,000 tourist beds along with a 'billionaires city' in the south-central region.

Qasim's manifesto also includes:

  • Establishment of a yacht harbour
  • International golf resort establishment in Laamu Atoll
  • Establishment of an international water sports resort
  • Establishment of a floating resort
  • Making Kaddhoo Airport an international airport
  • Construction of a hospital in Hulhumale' Phase II
  • Establishment of a shipyard in N. and R. Atoll
  • Construction of an international airport in GA. and GDh. Atoll
  • Building an international cruise city
  • Building an international wellness city
  • Establishment of an area for boutique resort
  • Establishment of a fish cannery
