Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the reclamation works of the AA. Ukulhas Land Reclamation & Shore Protection Project.

MTCC said the chartered dredger "Filipo Brunelleschi" is undertaking the reclamation works after the successful completion of Ha. Ihavandhoo and Sh. Mathi Komandoo reclamation.

Scope of work for the project include reclamation operations of 12 hectares, construction of a 1,692m sand bund, a 1,054m revetment, and an 80m groyne.

The project is valued at MVR 67.21 million.
