Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has left Jumhooree Party (JP).
Minister Dr. Mausoom Tweeted on Monday, announcing that he has left JP, and thanked the party leader Qasim Ibrahim for his leadership and members for the good and the bad times the party has endured.
Prior to leaving JP, Minister Dr. Mausoom had also announced his support for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the upcoming elections.
Responding to 'One' regarding his political career, Dr. Mausoom stated that he has not decided on joining any political party as of yet, but will continue to work with President Solih.
Dr. Mausoom previously filled the Kelaa constituency seat in the parliament and also worked as Sun Island's General Manager. He also filled the role of Tourism Minister during former president Maumoon's tenure.
He has also served as Maldivian Ambassador to Singapore, Maldives' Non-Resident Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and Maldives' Non-Resident Ambassador to New Zealand.
Dr. Mausoomjoined JP on 28 May 2014.
