Elections Commission of the Maldives has revealed that they received a total of 21 complains regarding the Parliamentary Election which concluded last Saturday.
EC made the statement during a press conference held to announce the preliminary results of 40 constituencies.
Out of these, 15 were regarding re-registration issues. In addition to this, four cases misconduct at polling stations and two cases of bribery were reported.
This years Parliamentary Election saw the highest turnout for a parliamentary election ever, with 212,079 people voting out of an eligible 264,442 people.
The total turnout for the election was 80%.
