Elections Commission (EC) has decided President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih meets the candidacy criteria for the upcoming presidential elections.

President Solih's election's agent Mohamed Nashiz and campaign manager Mohamed Rasheed Hussain (Bigey) submitted the candidacy form to EC on behalf of the President. President Solih has decided on North Hithadhoo constituency MP Mohamed Aslam as his running mate.

EC's Vice President Ismail Habeeb Tweeted on Sunday that President Solih's candidacy form has been accepted by EC as it meets the criteria set by the commission.
