Four Council members from Sh. Narudhoo have signed for Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).

Narudhoo Council was previously dominated by Jumhooree Party (JP) with three JP members in the Council.

The Council members signed MDP membership forms and handed over to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during his campaign trip to the island ahead of the presidential elections.

Councilors who signed for MDP include Council President Mohamed Mustharsid, Vice President Ali Shareef, Council member Sama Mohamed and Mohamed Madheeh. Previously, the Council had only one MDP member - Aishath Maaza. With the four members signing for MDP, Narudhoo Council is now fully dominated by MDP.

Additionally, a WDC member, former council member, and some PPM activists also signed for MDP.
