Former Chief Justice at Criminal Court and Legal Advisor at Jumhooree Party (JP), Uz. Ahmed Hailam has said a JP administration will not interfere with the courts unlike other governments.

Uz. Hailam made the remarks while speaking at Kunooz on Monday night. He said that under a JP tenure, an independent judiciary will be established to minimise crime. Uz. Hailam added that the courts will be free from government influence.

“It has never been Qasim Ibrahim's idea or the party he leads to put the judiciary in the hands of the government,” he said. He said that Qasim can change the general situation of the people's lives and that the opposition is focusing on their own party's affairs.

In addition, Hailam said that the JP government will pave the way for the fishermen to get their rightful money and that with a month to go before the election, companies are creating jobs on contract basis.
