MDP Chairperson and Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has said that opposition party PPM will be not allowed to campaign in islands if they interfere with MDP and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's campaign.
Speaking at President Solih's campaign meeting at Fuvahmulah City on Sunday night, Minister Fayyaz stated that the opposition remains ungrateful for the change and development brought by President Solih.
He added that opposition has been interfering with President Solih's campaign because they are scared of contesting against President Solih.
Fayyaz said that during the last year of President Abdullah Yameen’s rule, 2018, MDP took to the streets for election campaigns in fear of what would happen. However, today the opposition is taking to the streets without any such fear, he said.
"The President is a very brave person. If they always obstruct our campaign like that, they cannot campaign in a single island in Maldives. I'm asking the opposition to stop interfering with our campaign immediately," Fayyaz said.
He added that the MDP's determination will not be shaken and the party will not be dissolved.
