President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged the youth to make serving the state a priority that brings them happiness.
Speaking at the ongoing awards ceremony at the Social Centre, President Solih stated that the long-serving people of the state have done hard, sincere work, and they have played a leading role in the national development of the country.
President Solih added that Maldives has reached this point on the path of development due to their sacrifices and care in fulfilling their responsibilities in running the state.
The President further added that today's youth cannot imagine the burden they carried in the absence of digital services and today's young employees should learn from their services. He said that serving the state should be made a pleasure.
The President urged all public servants, especially the youth, to remain sincere and loyal in performing their national duties.
The government started giving awards to long serving employees in 2021. Since then, 309 people have been awarded the prize in the past two years, while 148 people will be awarded the prize at today's ceremony alone.
