State Trading Organisation (STO) has stated they have enough stock of medicine to combat the sudden outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting cases in Male' City.

Since Thursday night, the public has been raising concerns on social media regarding lack of ORS and medicine available at pharmacies.

An official from STO told 'One' on Friday that they have enough electrolyte and medication stocks.

"We have enough stock and there is no restriction to getting medication either," the official said.

IGMH Paediatrician Dr. Ahmed Faisal stated on Wednesday that there has been an increase in diarrhoea and vomiting cases amongst children and adults. Dr. Faisal Tweeted on Friday that IGMH ER is at full capacity currently with the rise in cases.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) stated on Friday that they are looking to identify the cause of the rise in these cases.
