Maldives Reform Movement (MRM)'s president Faris Maumoon has submitted his form to contest in the party's primary.

MRM Tweeted a photo of Faris with party's Secretary General Alim on Thursday, confirming Faris is running in the primary.

MRM opened application for primary at 1600hrs on Thursday.

The party stated that members contesting in the primary should be eligible for the presidential elections this year as per Elections Commission (EC) guidelines. MRM added that members contesting for the primary should have held party membership for at least a year.

MRM's presidential primary will be held on 1 August 2023 and the members will cast votes online, the party said.
