Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has said that JP lost at the Parliamentary Election 2019 because of former President Abdulla Yameen.

“JP’s loss is largely credit to the support shown towards President Yameen who, the entire country had rejected last September,” He said.

The minister insinuated that some people had hijacked the party, which had caused severe damages to the party hopefuls. However, he thanked those who had saved the nation from being destroyed.

Minister Waheed was also part of the celebrations regarding the historic win by MDP, where they had sweeped the super majority of the Parliament.

Tentative results confirm that JP has won 7 out of 41 constituencies they contested in while MDP has won a shocking 66 out of 86 constituencies.
