Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced physical works of B. Dharavandhoo Harbor Development Project on 23rd July 2023.

MTCC said the new harbour basin dredging operations are ongoing.

Scope of work for the project include a 30,504cbm new harbour basin dredging operations, 1843cbm maintenance dredging operations, 4126cbm ramp area dredging operations, 2301cbm channel dredging operations, 352m breakwater, 83m revetment, 248m quay wall, 24m groyne, a ramp (10m x 9m), a concrete jetty (140m x 2m), installation of 2104sqm harbor pavement, harbour lights and navigational lights.

The project is valued at MVR 55.48 million.
