EC Member Nashath's term comes to an end

Election's Commission (EC) member Ali Nashath's term has come to a close.

Nashath was appointed as a member of the EC on 25 July 2018 by former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

With Nashath’s term expiring today, the EC will be left with four members. They are Commission President Fuad Thowfeeq, Vice President Ismail Habib, Dr. Mohammed Zahir and Mohammed Asif.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih submit extension of Nashath's term for Parliament approval on 29 May. However, Parliament went into recess without deciding on the matter.
