Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to extend the suspension of HDh. Atoll Chief Magistrate Ali Adam.

JSC has decided to suspend Chief Magistrate Ali Adam indefinitely starting Monday in connection with a separate case other than the one he has been suspended over. The case involves allegedly calling and texting a judge involved in a divorce case filed in the Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court.

JSC said that with reference to the statements taken on 21 June 2023 regarding the case magistrate Adam is being investigated for, pursuant to Section 25 Clause (Th) of JSC Act, magistrate Adam will remain suspended indefinitely.

He has been under suspension since 25 May 2023.
