President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he does not believe that any event has taken place that caused the government coalition to collapse.
The President said this while speaking at Rajje TV’s “Fashaa Iru” program this morning. He noted that there may be differences of opinion. As such, he attributed these differences to not being able to reach an agreement on how to proceed with the Parliamentary elections within the government coalition. He said that he believes that nothing has and will surpass to cause the coalition to break.
A question was posed during the interview whether he believes that Jumhooree Party working with opposition, the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) for Parliamentary elections would cause a hindrance to the current government. President Solih responded by saying that there will be no repercussions of this alliance on the government.
He noted that he is working to ensure that no event takes place that destroys the government coalition and added that he truly believes that he will succeed in this endeavor.
