Vice President Faisal Naseem has said that the government would like to ensure that convicts are equipped with skills before they are released into society.

VP Naseem said this while speaking at the launch of Ooredoo Smart Campus Digital Classroom at Maafushi prison. He said that the biggest priority of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is education and added that the opening of the Smart Campus Digital Classroom today is also an indicator of that commitment.

He noted that is it a policy of the government to ensure that every citizen of Maldives is a beneficial member to society that can live in stability.

The Vice President said that no one in society should face exclusion and highlighted that the current policy is to work together toward goals.

He said that each and every citizen  should be provided with the opportunity to take part in working towards progress. Vice President Faisal Naseem said that the convicts currently serving prison sentences will hopefully leave the prison, equipped with skills that will benefit their families.
